Happy Father’s Day: Help Your Special Man Look and Feel His Best with these Treatments

Father’s Day Skin Treatment Gifts

With Father’s Day just around the corner, how are you planning to celebrate your special man this year? You could opt for a traditional gift like a new watch or tie, or you could surprise him with something that will help him look and feel his best. Cosmetic skin treatments aren’t only for women — in recent years, more and more men have begun taking better care of their skin with the help of professionals. So, this year, consider gifting the father(s) in your life with one or more of the following cosmetic treatments.

Chemical Peels

These superficial cosmetic procedures use acids and other types of chemicals to remove the outermost layers of skin, allowing newer, younger-looking skin to emerge. A professionally-administered chemical peel can help even out skin tone, reduce signs of sun damage and aging, diminish the appearance of scars and acne, and even improve the appearance of wrinkles. Best of all, these treatments often only take a half-hour, so they won’t take up a huge chunk of your special man’s day.

Classic Facials

A traditional facial is meant to clean, exfoliate, and rejuvenate the skin via creams, gels, serums, lotions, mists, moisturizers, and/or masks. These products may contain antioxidants, vitamins, hyaluronic acid, and more. Steam is often involved in this process too, opening the pores to aid in exfoliation. Facials are typically relaxing, stress-reducing procedures as well. And when properly performed, one’s skin should look younger, brighter, smoother, and firmer than before.

Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion is technically a type of facial, but rather than cleanse and exfoliate the skin with creams and serums, this process removes dead skin cells using an abrasive surface, basically “sanding down” one’s skin. Much like a chemical peel, microdermabrasion results in the emergence of newer, younger-looking skin. In this case, though, the older skin is removed physically, not chemically. After this minimally-invasive procedure, the participant may notice an improvement in their wrinkles, acne scars, skin tone and texture, and overall complexion.

Laser Therapies

Most men (and humans, for that matter) have an interest in lasers. As it turns out, lasers don’t just look cool — they can improve the appearance and health of one’s skin, too. There are several cosmetic laser treatments out there to consider this Father’s Day: Dermal Optical Thermolysis (DOT) can reduce scarring and sun damage; fractional ablative laser treatments like Fraxel Re:pair can improve pigmentation, reduce redness, inflammation, and broken vessels, smooth wrinkles and lines, and more; non-ablative fractionated lasers like Fraxel Re:store can stimulate one’s collagen production and resurface the skin on one’s face, neck, chest, and hands; high-frequency lasers can treat acne; the list goes on.

Dermal Fillers

Lastly, dermal fillers, namely hyaluronic acid fillers like Perlane® and Juvederm®, have become increasingly popular for women and men alike. These temporary injectables help restore volume and hydration to one’s skin, namely in the face and lips. Results from a single treatment can last up to one year, so your man can enjoy younger-looking skin for several months to come.
